NEWS

The introduction of the RS11 will be delayed until late March, so we can finish a software tool for user configuration and field upgrading of the unit. In the preliminary user manual is available for download.

The screen shot (above) shows the CPORT II software running with MD33 Dual-Engine Monitor. Each engine has 5 gauges to display analog inputs, 2 dials for frequency (RPM) or period inputs and 4 alarm indicators with optional duration timers. Panes along the bottom are used to display navigation data (NMEA 0183) received by the MD33. A Recorder Control box is available for data logging.

Engine data is collected by the Port and Starboard Interface Adapters, which connect directly to your existing gauges or sensors. Analog (voltage) inputs are scaled by user settable jumpers inside the Interface Adapters. Pulsed (RPM & period) inputs are filtered by the unit before measurement in the MD33.

The C-port II display software is based upon a simulated dashpanel. Property windows allow the user to configure the ranges, colors, labels and scale factors as desired. Data logging is also provided, and logged data can be imported into Excel for further analysis and graphing. A terminal window, very useful during setup and calibration, is available to view the incoming data sentences.

The MD33 also includes NMEA 0183 and NMEA2000/J-1939 interfaces. The NMEA 0183 input accepts Navigation data (location, speed, depth, etc.) at baud rates up to 38,400. This data can be displayed in "panes" in C-port II and will be logged along with engine data. The NMEA2000/J-1939 conection allows data communication with similar compatible instruments.

The MD33 is intended to connect to a PC via USB, but an NMEA 0183 serial output is also provided.
